Results of pilot tests of a DKVR 6.5/13 oil-fired boiler operating on coal-water slurry

2001
The use of the low-temperature vortex combustion process for converting boilers to burn coal-water slurry (CWS) is substantiated. The technology for burning CWS in the vortex-type furnace of a DKVR 6.5/13 oil-fired boiler is developed. The results of pilot tests of the boiler fueled by CWS are presented. The stable operation of the boiler with a combustion efficiency of the fuel of more than 95% is demonstrated. A considerable decrease of harmful emissions into the atmospheric was found.
