Barium Alloy Deoxidation Technique of Bearing Steel

In order to improve the quality of GCr15 bearing steel,barium alloy deoxidation was applied in refined-smelting ladle furnace during the producing process.Inclusions and fatigue life of the steels deoxidated with barium alloy were compared with those of the steels deoxidated with aluminum in refined-smelting ladle furnace and vacuum refining furnace.The results show that the fatigue life of the steels deoxidated with barium alloy was higher than that of the steels deoxidated with aluminum,and inclusions of the former were more homogeneous,smaller,more disperse and without punctual inclusions.The deoxidation effect of feeding barium alloy wire was better than that of the direct adding barium alloy block,and the finally gained steels with oxygen content of 7 mg·kg-1 had the highest fatigue life.
