REVISÃO BIBLIOGRÁFICA ANALÍTICA TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA: AN ANALYTIC REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

Trigeminal nerve neuralgia, a debilitating chronic pathological condition, due mainly to its associated painful symptomatology, has a varied etiology, related principally to traumatic sequelae or degenerative physiological processes associated with vascular compression. The carious forms of treatment described in the literature range from clinical drug procedures to neurosurgery for decompression of the trigeminal ganglion. In this paper the authors discuss important aspects related to the diagnosis and treatment of trigeminal neuralgias, pointing out important aspects of each case.
