A new type of fault current limiter

Power grid scale is expanding, more generators with large capacity are used in the power system, the growth of the load current is rapidly, the realization of the major regional power grid interconnection, all of these factors will lead to the fault current level continues to rise, which may lead to serious security problems, even collapse and collapse of the system. This paper proposes a high-speed switch type topology structure of current limiter, the application of the latest high-speed switching technology of current limiter, can effectively solve the problem of controller devices such as work power. First of all, we introduce and analyze its current limiting principle and its way to obtain energy. Secondly, we make detailed introduction on installation location of the application of current limiter. Then we analyze current limiter in the different voltage grade of power grid theoretically. Finally, we make mathematical calculation analysis and simulation on the current limiting effect of the high-speed switching current limiter and prove the validity and rapidity of the method in this paper. The new type of current limiter can also improve its ability of open circuit, prolong its service life, and eliminate its application in the process of some of the adverse influence on the grid.
