Method for producing L- glutamic acid producing bacteria and l- glutamate

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology enhancing L-glutamic acid-producing ability in producing L-glutamic acid using a coryneform bacterium. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the technology comprising use of a coryneform bacterium that is modified by using a yggB gene so that L-glutamic acid-producing ability is enhanced as compared to a non-modified strains, in culturing the bacterium in a medium to cause accumulation of L-glutamic acid in the medium or bacterial cells, and collecting the L-glutamic acid from the medium or cells.
