Triphenylcarbenium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate

PURPOSE: To provide a process for preparing in higher yields triphenylcarbenium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing triphenylcarbenium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate of formula Ph 3 C[B(C 6 F 5 ) 4 ] by reacting LiB(C 6 F 5 ) 4 with Ph 3 CCl, extracting thus formed product, separating insoluble LiCl and isolating the product. In this process, LiB(C 5 F 6 ) 4 is used in the form of hydrocarbon preparation on condition that the used LiB(C 5 F 6 ) 4 is not isolated from the production till its use. COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
