Comparisons of remote FCM analysis system and ordinary analytical methods for identification of BW content

2017
This paper analyzes methods for monitoring of ballast water (BW). PROMETHEE II computational comparison of laboratory and remote, fixed on ship, flow cytometry (FCM) detection system showed a result of 55% high score in favor of the remote detection system. This system of automatic detection of water content is remotely operated from a land office. Using this system, a ship with treated ballast water enters a port with the BW cleanliness confirmation granted from the land office by a designated person who had done remote detection. Automated monitoring of treated BW on board is done by using the newest sensor of flow cytometry technologies and satellite communications. Results of this study improve taking action in the interest of protection of our natural world.
