Selected Concepts and Controversies in Pediatric Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Recent guidelines for cardiopulmonary resuscitation have been published, but many areas of controversy remain despite decades of investigation. Rather than restating the new guidelines, this article reviews issues in both basic and advanced cardiac life support in the pediatric patient, highlighting current research, areas of controversy, and the rationale for recent changes in recommended CPR techniques and procedures.
