Indications for Endoscopic Resections

Endoscopic therapies for early esophageal cancers include endoscopic submucosal resection (EMR), EMR-tube method [1], two-channel method [2], and EMR-C method [3], all developed during the 1990s. But, for larger lesions, these resulted in multiple-piece resections with increased risks of local recurrences, making it more difficult to accurately evaluate resected specimens.
