Monitoring of human caliciviruse infectious in babies and infants of diarrhea in Guangxi in 2007-2008.

2010
Aim To monitoring the prevalence and features of human caliciviruse (HuCVs )infectious in babies and infants of diarrhea in Guangxi (2007~2008). Methods A total of 607 fecal samples were collected and analyzed by reverse transcription PCR. Part of caliciviruse-positive strains were selected for nucleotide analysis. Results The incidence of caliciviruse infectious was 13.3%,HuCVs infectious peak occurred from August to Noveber in 2007~2008. All of 58 sequences are GII-4 and 57 of 58 were clustered with the new GII-4 variant, termed 2006b. Conclusion The results suggests that HuCVs infectiou is common and norovirus GII-4/2006b variant is predominant in Guangxi,in 2007~2008. Long term monitoring of HuCVs is indicated .
