New lateral canthoplasty treatment for patients with congenital blepharophimosis syndrome

Objective To investigate a new lateral canthoplasty treatment for patients with blepharophimosis syndrome.Methods 8 patients with blepharophimosis syndrome were treated by the new lateral canthoplasty with rotation of theconjunctiva flap of upper eyelid. Results 8 patients were treated and followed-up for 3 to 12 months. All patients wereshowed excellent results after operation. Conclusion This method could achieve good clinical results and avoid adhension in the opened lateral canthus which often happened in patients with blepharophimosis syndrome.
