The invention provides a multi-partition dynamic backlight detection method, a multi-partition dynamic backlight detection device and a liquid crystal display (LCD) television. In the display process of a test image, backlight partitions are separately driven at a preset time interval according to backlight data so as to separately present the test image in each of the positions, corresponding to the backlight partitions, of a liquid crystal display. As the image cannot be observed when there is no backlight on the liquid crystal display, the invention provides a technical scheme in which the backlight partitions are separately driven at the preset time interval. As the backlight partitions are separately driven, the backlight sources of the other backlight partitions are switched off when the backlight source of one backlight partition is switched on. As there is the preset time interval for separately driving the backlight sources, the influence of persistence of vision caused by the light of the separately-driven backlight partitions to observers is avoided, and the image of each partition can be presented separately on an LCD panel. The backlight partitions can be detected by detecting the presenting state of the test image.
