A method (100) to produce a carboxylic acid in a cell (104) of electrolysis of two phases comprising: obtaining a cell (104) of electrolysis multicompartment comprising a cathode compartment (206) anode, a compartment (204) and a conveyor membrane (220) of solid alkali metal ions; adding an anolyte (230) in the anodic compartment (206), wherein the anolyte (230) comprises an alkali salt of a carboxylic acid (112), a first solvent (234) and a second solvent (232), and the alkali salt of carboxylic acid (112) acid is divided into a first solvent (234); and electrolyzing the anolyte (230) to produce a carboxylic acid (228) acid, wherein the (228) produced carboxylic acid is divided in the second solvent (232); wherein the first solvent (234) comprises water and the second solvent (232) comprises an organic solvent.
