Study on cutting propagation of limestone species Chirita gueilinensis.

2009
A cutting experiment about a limestone species Chirita gueilinensis was conducted with 3 different treatments:different cutting medium, different cutting time, and different cutting leaf size. The results showed that the best cutting medium was limestone soil and perlite+fine park soil among the four substrates.By this cutting medium treatment, the average seedling rate exceeded 95 %,and the seedling with 2-3 adventitious buds, and 6 average leaves. The poorest cutting medium was ash soil.Among the 3 cutting time treatment, the optimum month is March. The average seedling rate was up to(98.67±2.31) % which cutting in this month, and the leaf length of the seedling reached(4.31±0.09)cm.By using the cutting leaf size between 1 cm×0.5 cm and 1.5 cm×1.5 cm,the average seedling rate was up to(88.67±8.08) % with placed leaf material horizontal on the medium, which was higher 20 %-30 % than that vertical on the medium.By using the cutting leaf size 2 cm×2 cm,the seedling rate of placed leaf material vertical on the medium was higher 10 % than that of horizontal placed, which was(94.00±5.29) %.
