PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To back up correct real data corresponding to a snapshot with a low processing load.SOLUTION: A storage management device 2 includes an inhibition instruction part 2a and an execution instruction part 2b. The inhibition instruction part 2a transmits an update inhibition instruction for inhibiting data update of a backup source volume 11 by an information processing device 3. The execution instruction part 2b transmits to a storage device 1 an execution instruction for making the storage device 1 execute snapshot creation processing for creating a snapshot of the backup source volume 11 by a copy-on-write method, and backup processing for copying updated data among data of the backup source volume 11 onto a backup destination volume 13 after transmitting the update inhibition instruction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
