Effectiveness of combined radiotherapy in patients with cancer of the corpus uteri

: An analysis of the results of complex radiation treatment of 153 cases of cancer of the corpus uteri was performed. The five-year survival rate was 65.1%. Stage, histologic pattern of tumor, patient's age and intracavitary radiation technique appeared to be factors of treatment efficacy. Application of 60Co spherical radioactivity sources was followed by a significantly higher 5-year survival than that of linear ones.
