Empirische Untersuchung zu den Wirkmöglichkeiten des Sensi Controlers – Was kann ein psychomotorisches Übungsgerät?

OBJECTIVE: This article presents an empirical study in the field of occupational therapy concerning the research of effects of therapeutic equipment. The Sensi Controler as a piece of psychomotor equipment is tested for the assumptive therapeutic or pedagogic potentials of effect, which pertain to the motor-functional, cognitive, perceptive, psychic-emotional and social field. METHOD: The method is basically quantitative, including a combination of expert questioning and observation. The research in form of hypothesis testing primarily responds to the research question: Which potentials of effect do exist when using the Sensi Controler in occupational therapy and in other therapeutic or pedagogic contexts? RESULTS: The most important results of both methods are described, compared and discussed. The Sensi Controler holds 50 of 55 analysed potentials of effect and therefore is a multipotent piece of equipment. CONCLUSION: Within the research of effect, equipment checking in the field of occupational therapy is considered to be necessary, which would contribute to quality assurance, academization und professionalization of occupational therapy in Germany.
