Mathematic Modeling of the Osprey Process

The work is focused on the mathematical modeling of the phenomena involved in the Osprey process. First, the melt flow rate is analysed as a function of the melt delivery nozzle geometry vs. the height of liquid head in crucible. Then, the analysis of the atomisation process is used to predict the droplets size and their velocity vs. initial conditions. Finally, the thermal history of the droplets is investigated using a software developed by the authors.
