Epidemiological research on blood pressure in 5762 children of Beipiao city

Objective To approach the status of children's blood pressure and distribution features of children's hypertension.Methods 5762 children aged 7-14 were sampled by means of whole population random sampling.Blood pressure was measured and some related factors were investigated with the uniform questionnaire.Spss 10\^0 of statistical software was used for data analysis.Results (1)No matter of SBP or DBP,there was a significant difference between girls and boys,mean blood pressure level in girls was obviously higher than that in boys.Mean values of SBP and DBP were both increased with aging.(2)Age-BP curves of boys and girls showed different shape among different regions.In urban group,the two curves of hypertension was 2\^8%,significant difference was found in prevalcence rate between girls and boys.The same difference was also demonstrated between city and the countryside.Significant difference was also showed among five areas in suburb,while the prevalence rate in western area was significantly lower than that of other areas.Conclusion The area of Beipiao City was a high incidence region of child hypertension.Age-BP curves of boys and girls showed different shape among different regions.
