Inelastic π - 3 He interaction at 180 MeV 3 He interaction at 180 MeV

New data on inelastic (π-3He) scattering at 180 MeV are presented. The cross-sections of the\(\left( {\pi ^ - pd} \right)\) and\(\left( {\pi ^ - ppn} \right)\) reactions have been measured. The three-prong events inelastic-scattering cross-section turns out to be (95.8±3.7) mb. The analysis shows evidence that the predominant mechanism of the\(\left( {\pi ^ - pd} \right)\) is the knock-out one. Detailed analyses of the momentum and angular distributions of the\(\left( {\pi ^ - pd} \right)\) events show that the reaction proceeds through the knock-out channel on proton and on deuteron with percentages of 50% and 35%, respectively. The phase space contribution turns out to be of 15%.
