FUNERARY MONUMENT OF GIOVANNI AND PIETRO DE’ MEDICI BY ANDREA DEL VERROCCHIO: CLEANING OF STONE SURFACES

The restoration of this monument required the development of a cleaning system, based on ion-exchange resins, to be employed on marble and stone surfaces. Such cleaning operations and additional interventions made it possible to recover, in large measure, the ancient clean appearance and the splendor of this monument.
