Johan Rockstrom is Associate Professor of Natural Resources Management at Stockholm University, Sweden, and Executive Director of the Stockholm Environment Institute and the Stockholm Resilience Centre. His research focuses on global environmental change and development issues, global water resources research, resilience and sustainability science, and integrated soil and water management in tropical agro-ecosystems. Rockstrom serves as a scientific advisor in several international organizations, and is involved in several research projects across scales, from resilience and global change processes to water management systems for improved food security among small-holder farmers in semi-arid savannah environments of sub-Saharan Africa.
