LA ATENCIÓN POR USO DE DROGAS EN LOS HOSPITALES PSIQUIÁTRICOS: LA ATENCIÓN DE LA URGENCIA Y DE "LA PATOLOGÍA DUAL".

El trabajo analiza datos de un estudio cuyo objetivo general era describir las caracteristicas de los dispositivos destinados a la atencion de los usuarios de drogas de Buenos Aires. El estudio fue de tipo cualitativo y se realizo en distintas fases en 2005, 2006 y 2007. La muestra intencional involucro a 50 especialistas en la atencion por uso de drogas con y sin formacion academica. Los datos fueron obtenidos mediante entrevistas semidirigidas, entrevistas a informantes clave y grupos de discusion. Se incluyeron datos secundarios producidos por las propias instituciones a las que pertenecian los especialistas. En este trabajo se analizan las caracteristicas mas importantes de la atencion por uso drogas en los hospitales psiquiatricos. Los entrevistados afirmaron que estos dispositivos no eran adecuados para el tratamiento de los usuarios de drogas debido a las consecuencias negativas del encierro y el aislamiento prolongados. Al mismo tiempo, consideraron la pertinencia del dispositivo para la atencion en crisis y de las “patologias duales”. Teniendo en cuenta la sancion la ley de salud mental 26.657, consideramos que este trabajo puede ser un valioso aporte para redefinir la asistencia en este dispositivo en el marco de la nueva ley. Palabras clave Atencion Drogas Hospitales Psiquiatricos ABSTRACT DRUG USE ASSISTANCE AT PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITALS: THE ASSISTANCE DURING CRISIS AND DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT This article analyzes data from a study aimed to describing the characteristics of the drug treatment programs assisting drug users in Buenos Aires. It was a qualitative study carried out in different phases between 2005 and 2007. The sample included 50 specialists with and without academic training. The data were collected through semi-directed interviews, interviews to key informants and focus groups. Secondary data produced by the institutions where the specialists belonged were also included. This article focuses on the characteristics of the assistance to drug users at psychiatric hospitals. The specialists interviewed, agreed that the negative consequences of enclosure and isolation for a long time at the psychiatric hospitals were not appropriate for drug users.
