Learning Technologies in Higher Education

This chapter discusses the use of technologies to enhance learning and teaching and, importantly, the importance of digital competencies for learners today given there is no conceivable future in which technology will not play a part. Building on the discussion in Chap. 3, this chapter suggests that academics modernise and develop digital skills to be part of the digital age, just as students also require digital skills. A radical suggestion in this chapter is that higher education itself should transform through the use of technology.
