A new life for small hydroelectric stations in Kirgizia

1987
Kirgizia has enormous supplies of hydropower resources, of which about 20% is presently being used. Small rivers, irrigation reservoirs, and canals are not being used for electric power production. The total hydropotential of small rivers is 72 billion kWh, of which 42.7 billion kWh can be technically used. The presently operating small hydrostations of the Alameda cascade are cost effective and can serve as a model for future hydrostations.
