AAMC-loaded cavity-backed slot antennas

2012
Artificial magnetic conductors (AMCs) can enable low-profile antennas over a limited bandwidth. Loading an AMC with negative-inductance non-Foster circuits increases an AMC's bandwidth. We present measurements of two UHF-VHF cavity-backed slot antennas (CBSA) whose cavities are filled with a non-Foster-loaded AMC. The results show that the NFC-AMC CBSA has excellent impedance match that can be tuned over 100 MHz.
