PENGARUH MEDIA TANAM DAN NUTRISI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL TANAMAN PAKCHOI (Brassica juncea L.) DENGAN SISTEM HIDROPONIK

Pakchoi (Brassica juncea L.). is one kind of a vegetable crop that has high economic value and high nutrition. The technology of hydroponic is one of alternative cultivation using other media than soil substrates and nutrients. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of media composition and nutrition on growth and yield of  pakchoi crops and find out which treatment is best for plant growth and yield of pakchoi. Research carried out in the garden experiment in a plastic house , Faculty of Agriculture, University of Trunojoyo Madura , at an altitude of ± 5 m above sea level , temperature 29 o C , and ± 75 % RH . The research was conducted in December 2011 to February 2012. The analysis was used non faktorial RAL . Treatment with compose media types ( raw rice husk , rice husk charcoal , sand ) and nutrients ( no nutrients , premium nutrition , nutrition goodplant ). There are nine treatment , three replications and three samples of the plant , further tests were analyzed by DMRT 5 %. Results showed the treatment composition and nutrient media provide significantly different results at different ages of observations on each variable observation . The best treatment composition contained in the husk charcoal and nutrient media goodplant ( M2N2). Evidenced by the average of the highest results on the length of the plant (29.38 cm ), number of leaves ( 22.22 strands ), leaf area ( 3226.79 cm 2 ), wet weight ( 242.19 g ) and dry weight (13 , 27 g ) total plant pakchoi at age 4 MST .
