Treatment about complications of eye lid plastic surgery

Objective To investigate the repair method and effect of treatment for complication of eye lid plastic operative. Methods The clinical data of 135 eyes of 96 patients with eye lid plastic operative complication was analyzed retrospectively. The preoperative and postoperative width difference and height difference of binocular palpebral fissure and the degree of ectropion were measured. The reparative effect of the operation was observed. Results The common complication were upper and lower eyelid ectropion and scar explore , asymmetry , inner and outer canthus direction due to eye scar contracture, ptosis, hematoma, diplopia, infection and the small fission etc. The main cause of complication was upper and lower eyelid without a reliable stretch, it was easily lead to symblepharon or ectropion if there was longitudinal tension. The eyes after reconstructive operation went back to nomal.The diffrence of bilateral palpebral length and width became small. All patients of ectropion were corrected. Conclusion The eye operative complication is corrected effectively by reducing the longitudinal tension and giving the support of eyelid edge. Key words: Plastic surgery, eye lid; Complication; Repair
