Drug Resistance Genotypes of Escherichia coli Producing ESBLs in Pediatric Patients

Objective To study the genotypes of 58 Escherichia coli stroins producing ESBLs.The strains were cultured from infection specimens of the respiratory tract in pediatric department of Jilin City hospitals.Methods The drug resistant genotypes of 58 strains of Escherichia coli producing ESBLs were analyzed by PCR.Results The results of β-lactamases genotype showed that two strains carried blaSHV2a,seven carried blaTEM-1 and seventeen carried blaCTX-M-15.Conclusion The mechanism of resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in pediatric hospital resporatory infections in Jilin is partly due to the production of TEM-1 broad spectrum β-lactamase,SHV2a and CTX-M-15 extended spectrum β-lactamase.
