Advanced optical cable and jointing technologies for upgrading access network

We aim to upgrade the access network in order to respond to multimedia demands almost as soon as they emerge by deploying optical cable in the feeder portion of the access network by the year 2000. This paper describes the optical cable and jointing technologies we will employ.
