Stable Population Theory

The concept of a stationary population was introduced in Chap. 4. The life table population, it was noted, was a stationary population. It was closed to migration, experienced a constant annual number of births (given by l0), a constant and equal annual number of deaths (∑dx = l0), thus had a constant size (T0) and a zero growth rate, and had a constant age structure (given by the Lx-column).
