Method of producing nickel 2-ethylhexanoate

2015
FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of organic metal salts and can be used to produce nickel 2-ethylhexanoate which is used as a catalyst for organic reactions, a fuel component, a stabilizer or a modifying agent, as well as in microelectronics. The method of producing salts of nickel 2-ethylhexanoate involves reaction of aliphatic carboxylic acid with aqueous ammonia taken in equimolar ratio, in aqueous phase at a temperature of 20-65°C for 20-60 minutes to obtain a water-soluble carboxylic acid ammonium salt in the first stage, injecting a metal chloride aqueous solution to the carboxylic acid ammonium salt soluton in the second stage, extracting the resulting metal salt of aliphatic carboxylic acid with organic solvent characterised by using 2-ethylhexanoic acid as aliphatic carboxylic acid, nickel chloride as chloride, benzene, hexane, chloroform, petroleum ether of 40-70°C fraction or gasoline fractions with boiling temperature of 40-100°C as organic solvent, reaction process of nickel chloride solution andammonium 2-ethylhexanoate is being carried out at a temperature of 20-30°C for 1-2 hours, nickel chloride is taken at equivalent ratio to 2-ethylhexanoic acid equal to 1,2-1,3:1, mass flow of organic solvent for extraction of nickel 2-ethylhexanoate is 1.2-1.5:1 in reference to the parent 2-ethylhexanoic acid. EFFECT: invention increases the output of the end product, simplifies the process. 6 cl, 16 ex, 1 tbl
