Effects of Nutrient Solution of Various pH Values on Ornamental Plants

This study addresses the effects of various pH values(5.0,6.0,7.0,8.0,9.0) on the growth and development of Scindapsus aureun in hydroponics.The results showed that,at pH values ranging from 5.0 to 7.0,the root length,height and leaf number of S.aureun increased,while at pH 8.0 and pH9.0,the root length,height and leaf number of S.aureun decreased.At pH values ranging from 5.0 to 7.0,the chlorophyll content of S.aureun increased,whereas the chlorophyll content of S.aureun decreased at pH 8.0 and pH 9.0.In conclusion,pH 7.0 is proven to be most favorable for the growth of S.aureun.Meanwhile,the growth of S.aureun is inhibited at pH 8.0 and 9.0.
