The invention discloses a temperature-controlled dimming film and a stepwise polymerization preparation method thereof. The method comprises the following steps: (1) proportionally mixing a non-liquid crystal photopolymerizable monomer, a liquid crystal photopolymerizable monomer, a liquid crystal monomer, a chiral compound, a photoinitiator and a glass bead to obtain a homogeneous solution, and preparing a thin film from the homogeneous solution; (2) performing primary ultraviolet irradiation polymerization on the thin film, and performing secondary ultraviolet irradiation polymerization on the thin film under the condition of applying an electric field to the thin film, so as to obtain the temperature-controlled dimming film after polymerization reaction is finished. The method is simple and feasible; a PDLC (polymer dispersed liquid crystal) and a PSLC (polymer stabilized liquid crystal) are radically combined to prepare a PD and SLC thin film, and the film has the advantages of high film forming performance, industrialization, high orientation performance and functionalization of liquid crystal molecules in the thin film and temperature adjustability of transparent state and scattering state switching of the thin film, and thus has broad market prospect.
