Evidence-based lobbying for stronger legislation: Inputs versus outcomes

The Smoke-free Coalition of over 20 national health agencies lobbied Government from mid-1995 to mid-1996, starting six months behind tobacco lobbyists. A weak Smoke-free Environments Amendment Bill was introduced to Parliament in late 1995. The challenge was to get it strengthened.
