A necessary condition for small-time local controllability

Abstract A nonlinear control system whose right-hand side is Lipschitz continuous with respect to the state–space variables is considered. A new necessary small-time local controllability condition is proved under natural assumptions. A nonlinear three-dimensional example illustrates the applicability of the obtained result.
