Effect of Jianpi Tiaozhi Huayu recipe combined with Metformin tablet in the treatment of obesity and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis

[Objective]To observe the clinic effect of Jianpi Tiaozhi Huayu recipe(JTH) combined with Metformin tablet in the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and obesity.[Methods]One hundred and nine cases of obesity and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis were collected and randomly divided into treatment group(n=55) and control group(n=54).Metformin tablet and JTH were given to patients in the treatment group,while Polyene phosphatidyl choline capsules and Metformin tablet were given to those in the control group.All patients were treated 24 weeks continuously.Changes of clinical symptom score,body mass index(BMI) and liver ultrasound were observed,and serum alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein(LDL-C) were asseyed before and after treatment.[Results]The total effective rate was 90.9%(40/55)in the treatment group and 75.9%(41/54) in the control group and the difference between them was statistically significant(P0.05).Compared with those of pre-treatment in the control group,the level of serum ALT,AST,TG and TC decreased obviously(P0.05 orP0.01),and the level of serum HDL-C increased obviously(P0.05),while the level of LDL-C was not changed significantly(P0.05).Compared with those of pre-treatment in the treatment group,the level of serum ALT,AST,TG,TC and LDL-C decreased obviously(P0.01),and the level of serum HDL-C increased obviously(P0.05).The level of serum ALT and AST,TG and TC,LDL-C in the treatment group was lower than that of the control group respectively,and the level of serum HDL-C was higher than that of the control group(P0.01).[Conclusion]JTH combined with Metformin tablets had definit effects on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and obesity.
