RESOLVING THE FEDLEV VS. CALEV DISPUTE

1996
The US Environmental Protection Agency has been quietly working to resolve an issue which could significantly alter transportation in the US. Alternate plans for limiting pollution from new cars have been proposed by north–eastern states and large car manufacturers, and EPA has been searching for a compromise agreement. This paper examines the conflict in the context of Clean Air act Amendments of 1990 and promising choices for reducing air pollution.
