ATUAÇÃO EM REDE E A PARCERIA LATACI® + EMGE: NOVA TRÍADE PESQUISA-EXTENSÃO-ENSINO:

This paper aims to present the integration between the LATACI® Research Institute and EMGE – Escola de Engenharia as a way of complementing research-teaching-extension activities. LATACI® proposes a new model of knowledge management both in the university in Basic Education environments, in which the defined priority is the development of interdisciplinary research. The traditional teaching-research-extension triad is purposely treated as research-extension-teaching. EMGE defines in its driving axis that Engineering should include the precepts of sustainable development in the plans, projects, constructions and general uses of technical solutions. Based on several common values, among them interdisciplinary, the two institutions came together, complementing their efforts in the search for the construction of a useful knowledge that contributes to an integral human education. Some joint efforts are presented, such as the "II LATACI® Colloquium: Learning and Knowledge Production" and the research projects "Transdisciplinary Education" and "Sustainable Cities". Integrative Learning is discussed as an approach that integrates theory and practice and may help students piece together and develop mental habits that prepare them to make connections between knowledge in several areas for a better personal, professional, and civic life.
