Nonlinear Optical Properties and Applications of Noble Metal Nanoparticles and Nanocomposites

The noble metal nanoparticles and nanocomposites with nonlinear optical properties have attracted considerable attention over the past few years, owning to the importance of both fundamental research and practical applications in nonlinear optical devices. This paper reviews the current research progress of metal nanoparticles and nanocomposites including their main species, preparation and optical properties as well as their applications such as laser protection.It also shows our view on the future studies and some problems that remain to be resolved.
