The invention provides an automatic inspection method and an automatic inspection device based on an unmanned aerial vehicle. An automatic inspection request including an identifier of a to-be-inspected road is received; a preset navigation file set including at least one navigation file corresponding to the road identifier is displayed, wherein each navigation file indicates a unique unmanned aerial vehicle flight path corresponding to the to-be-inspected road; a selection operation on the navigation file by a user is further answered; the unmanned aerial vehicle is controlled to automatically fly in the unmanned aerial vehicle flight path indicated by the navigation file selected by the user, and information of an image photographed during the flight process is returned. Thus, the to-be-inspected road can be inspected automatically through controlling the unmanned aerial vehicle, the road inspection efficiency is improved, and dangers during the road inspection process are reduced.
