Piezoelectricity and excellent thermal stability in W6+ modified SrBi4Ti4O15 ceramics

2020
SrBi4-2x/3Ti4-xWxO15 (SBTW-x, x=0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.1) lead-free piezoelectric ceramics, were prepared by a solid-state reaction route. X-ray diffraction analysis suggested that all compositions have a bismuth-layered perovskite structure. The phase transition temperature shifted to lower temperatures with increasing W6+ content. Additionally, lower tangent loss and thermal annealing behavior in the modified ceramics at elevated temperature indicated that the SBTW-x ceramics exhibit good thermal stability, which may have promising potential for high temperature piezoelectric application.
