New 10-trifluoromethyl monomers, dimers, and chimeras of artemisinin from a key allyl bromide precursor

The effect of the CF 3 group on the metabolism of bioactive molecules is well exemplified in the herein reported antimalarial artemisinin derivatives. The design, synthesis and biological activity of various CF 3 -substituted artemisinin derivatives are described.
