Diagnostic importance of $sup 125$I-fibrinogen in the detection of peripheral thromboses

1973
Ionine-125 labeled fibrinogen was administered intravenously to patients with thrombosis of the extremities as well as to normal individuals. There was a significant difference between the fibrinogen half-life of the normal subjects and that of subjects with recent thromboses; however, the difference was not significant between the normal subjects and those with old thromboses. In many cases the results were verified by post-mortem flndings. No complications or side effects were observed following administration of the labeled fibrinogen. (HLW)
