Trajectory-Based Data Delivery Algorithm in Maritime Vessel Networks Based on Bi-LSTM

An efficient and low-cost communication system has great significance in the field of maritime communication, but it faces great challenges because of high communication cost, incomplete communication infrastructure, and inefficient data delivery algorithms. In this paper, we develop a long-term accurate trajectory prediction model by Bidirectional Long-Short Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) model. Based on predicted trajectories, we propose a data delivery algorithm based on predicted results to achieve efficient communication performance. Finally, we carry out simulation experiments with extensive real data. Compared with existing algorithms, the simulation results show that our algorithm can achieve higher delivery ratio with lower transmission delay.
