Calibration constants in Mössbauer diffraction experiments
2008
We have measured the ratio of the inelastic to total scattering for the (200) Bragg peak of LiF to be (1.4±1.0) %. This result is an order of magnitude less than reported by O’Connor and Butt1, and it can be used as a basis for a simpler calibration of the elastic and inelastic components of scattering for other Mossbauer diffraction experiments.
