A pharmaceutical composition for the sustained and controlled release of insoluble polypeptides in water

1988
Describes a pharmaceutical composition for the sustained and controlled release of a drug over an extended time period comprising a polylactide, a copolymer of lactic and glycolic acids, a mixture of such polymers and a water-insoluble peptide in water which, when it is placed in an aqueous physiological type environment releases the peptide continuously over a period of at least one week with an initial release for the first twenty-four hours does not exceed 30% of the total amount released . by means of such a composition is achieved to effectively control the peptide release profile and to reduce its initial thrust.
