PADRÕES DE SUPERPOSIÇÃO DE ESTRUTURAS DO GRUPO SÃO ROQUE NA FAIXA JARAGUÁ-CRISTAIS (SP)

1985
Structural analysis was carried out in an area of 376 km 2  of the Sao Roque Group, extending between the Pico do Jaragua (Municipality of Sao Paulo) and the Serra dos Cristais (Municipality of Jundiai). Three phases of deforrnation were reconstructed based on superposition patterns, characteristics of fold styles, orientation criteria and the nature of axial-plane foliations. Metamorphic and magmatic phenomena were related to these deformation phases. The F 1  deformation phase generated rare tight folds with axial-plane slaty cleavage or schistosity under low to medium-grade metamorphic conditions. The metamorphic peak ocurred between the first and the second folding events. During the F 2  phase tight folds developed on ali scales, mainly with thickenned hinges and with persistent axial-plane crenulation cleavage. The cleavage is frequently both microscopic and of the zonal type, with associated differentiated banding. To the F 3  phase a mare spaced crenulation cleavage is related but not of the zonal type. The folds of this latter phase have great amplitude and wavelenght, and introduced important ondulations and neutral folds on the regional structures.
