Reversal of mitomycin c-induced growth and division inhibition in a species of Erwinia.

1962
MITOMYCIN c, an anti-tumour agent from culture filtrates of Streptomyces caespitosus, is effective against both Gram-positive and negative bacteria, and is bacteriocidal to growing and non-growing bacteria1. It is an extremely potent inhibitor of growth and cell division of an Erwinia species, using a synthetic medium2 normally supporting excellent growth.
