After the nuclear accident at Chernobyl, Food contamination with environment radionuclids was reported in several countries. Thenceforth, basis were stablished for the statament of intenational racomendations by FAO/OMS/OIEA concernig levels of radionuclids in foods, in order to Foods in Cuba, which doesn't include radioactive contaminants. So, it was advisable to include in it a program for the control of radionuclids in foods, both imported and made in the country is described in this article.
